CRIME prevention advice has been passed on to local fishermen after equipment was stolen.
Constable Laura Jackson has met with representatives of Dunbar’s fishing fleet as well as the town’s harbourmaster and Councillor Donna Collins.
Reports were made of creels being taken and the community officer is also working with Marine Scotland in a bid to tackle the issue.
The situation is highlighted in a report to Dunbar Community Council, which meets on Monday evening.
The officer confirmed that speed checks were also being carried out on a number of busy routes following concerns being raised by members of the public.
Among the streets being targeted are Dunbar High Street, Belhaven High Street and Back Road.
The officer added: “Youth-related anti-social behaviour calls are increasing, particularly ‘egging’ incidents, so I intend to undertake increased pro-active patrols to tackle this, and encourage anyone with CCTV footage to pass this on to me.”
