A road closure at a key slip road to Queen Margaret University has been extended by a week after bad weather caused delays to work.
The slip road on the A1 eastbound (southbound) to Queen Margaret University, Musselburgh, was closed on Monday (March 13) as part of ongoing carriageway improvement works and was due to reopen today (Friday).
However, bad weather last week has meant that work could not be completed in time and the closure has been extended until next Friday (March 24).
It is hoped by the council that work will be completed before Friday and the road will reopen as soon as work is complete.
The carriageway improvements are part of ongoing work on the newly formed on-slip road which are being undertaken by JP Construction.
A new on-slip was created at the university to provide greater access to the A1.
A diversion route remains in place along the B16415, Stoneybank Terrace and Whitehill Farm Road.
