THE Brand Family Farm in East Fortune welcomed visitors to the first instalment of what will become a monthly farmers’ market.
Stall holders lined up on February 5 for the first market of the year; more are set to run on the first Sunday of every month in 2023.
The farm offers a wide range of products, from fresh eggs to home-reared pork, and was selling goods alongside other stallholders at the market.
Other businesses in attendance included Glenkinchie, Sam’s Cakes & Bakes Tranent, Tyninghame Candles, Recrafter’s Cottage and many more.
Jane Brand, farm owner, said: “Thanks very much to all our stall holders and our customers that visited the farm for our market.
“We were absolutely delighted with how the
event went. The feedback we’ve been getting from the stall holders has been incredible.
“Our email inbox has been overflowing with vendors asking to come along, so there is plenty of scope to make it bigger.
“We are busy back in the office getting ready for our next market on March 5 and we look forward to seeing people there.”
Jane said that the market was a good thing during a time when business had been difficult for the family.
She said: “It’s tough at the moment.
“Prices are so high for everything and that’s making it really difficult for us.
“We just have to keep pushing through and doing what we can.
“This market is a really good thing for us, though, so hopefully it will continue to be popular.”
The next market runs on March 5, from 10am to 4pm.
