East Lothian residents came out in their numbers yesterday to show support to cyclists travelling through the county on their way to Murrayfield from Cardiff.
The group of cyclists, which included rugby legends like Scotland captain Rob Wainwright and former England captain Martin Johnson, cycled 555 miles from Cardiff to Edinburgh to deliver the match ball ahead of Scotland’s Six Nations game against Wales yesterday to raise funds for research into motor neurone disease.
The group were raising money for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, which was started by late Doddie Weir in 2017.
Many East Lothian residents took to the streets to show their support for the cyclists as they pushed through the county on one of the final stretches of their long journey.
A fabulous reception in Dunbar for the Doddie 555 cyclists!

Phenomenal effort 🤩
555 miles in 55 hours! 🥵
And there's still time to support their mammoth challenge and donate to help beat MND: https://t.co/1SYfD8GQOQ pic.twitter.com/qyjJfVOT1H
A number of photos and videos of the cyclists were captured in Haddington, Dunbar, Macmerry and more on their route through the county.
