PLANS to replace a bungalow which “leaks energy like a sieve” have been withdrawn.
Proposals to demolish the “very poor 1970s bungalow” in favour of a “modern, highly insulated” family home at Trabroun Farm were lodged with East Lothian Council last November.
However, Mr and Mrs Andrew Bain’s plans for the building, to the north of the A1 between Haddington and Gladsmuir, have now been withdrawn.
The now-withdrawn proposals showed a two-storey home featuring four bedrooms, a utility room, larder, office, snug, lounge and music room, as well as kitchen and dining area.
Documents included with the application described the existing building as “badly constructed”.
It read: “Catastrophic climate change is upon us and everyone must take their responsibility seriously.
“The existing bungalow leaks energy like a sieve.”
