A MUSSELBURGH man who attacked a supermarket worker has had his sentence deferred to allow him to complete previously imposed community payback orders.
Jayson Dodds assaulted Sainsbury’s store worker Alban Sery by throwing a bottle at him on November 6 last year.
Dodds, of Goose Green Avenue, also attempted to strike Mr Sery with the glass bottle, causing the man to fall to the ground, all to his injury.
The 22-year-old admitted the assault charge at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month and he was back in the dock for sentencing last Thursday.
Sheriff John Cook was told that Dodds had previous convictions for violence and was currently serving two community payback orders.
The sheriff said the assault at the store at Shandwick Place in Edinburgh deserved a community-based order but wanted him to complete the previous orders first.
Sheriff Cook deferred sentence on Dodds for him to be of good behaviour and for him to complete the court orders.
