A PRESTONPANS motorist who drove dangerously through the streets of the town has been jailed and banned from the road.
Steven Cull sped along several roads, including Prestongrange Road, and drove through several stop signs and red traffic lights on Sunday.
Cull, who has been banned from driving on at least four previous occasions, also crossed onto the opposing carriageway, forcing drivers to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
The 24-year-old also overtook vehicles when it was unsafe to do so and eventually lost control of his vehicle and collided with a parked car and kerbs.
Following the incident, Cull, of the town’s Harlawhill, was eventually stopped and arrested by police officers at about 4pm.

He appeared from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to charges of dangerous driving and driving while already disqualified.
Sheriff Matthew Auchincloss jailed him for eight months and banned him from driving for the next 10 years.
Cull had not guilty pleas to failing to stop and driving with no insurance accepted by the Crown.
Co-accused Jay Jack, 19, also appeared from custody at the city court and pleaded not guilty to five allegations.
Jack, of Glenkinchie Council Houses, Pencaitland, denied charges of dangerous driving, driving while banned and with no insurance, and failing to stop at several roads in Prestonpans and North Berwick.
He also pleaded not guilty to possessing a quantity of cannabis while at St Leonard’s Police Station in Edinburgh on January 22.
Jack will return to court to stand trial on all matters on July 24.
