A LONG-AWAITED rematch between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall has been postponed.
The two fighters were expected to step back into the ring in Glasgow on March 4 – more than 12 months after their first bout.
Taylor, of Prestonpans, successfully defended his WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF titles on that occasion in February last year after a controversial split decision.
However, the planned rematch has now been shelved after the undefeated Taylor suffered a foot injury.
No date has been announced for a rescheduled fight.
Taylor has been forced to vacate three of his four titles since the fight last year, with only the WBO belt now on the line.
Thirty-two-year-old Taylor spoke to Courier Sport shortly before Christmas.
He said: “I cannot wait.
“With everything that has gone on, I have got the bit between my teeth and just want to get the monkey off my back.
“I want to shut everybody up and prove once again that I am the best fighter in the world.”
