A 50-YEAR-OLD man has died following an accident on the A1 in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services raced to the scene amid reports of a crash between a truck and a lorry on the A1 north of Eyemouth at about 3.30am.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for about 10 hours to allow an investigation.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick of Police Scotland said: “We received a report of a crash involving a truck and a lorry on the A1 north of Eyemouth, around 3.30am on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
“Emergency services attended and a 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“There were no reports of any other injuries.
“Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0282 of 19 January, 2023.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 03.33hrs to attend a road traffic collision on the A1 near Eyemouth.
"We dispatched three special operations resource teams and an ambulance to the scene.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called to assist emergency service partners at 3.33am on Thursday, 19 January at the scene of an incident on the A1 near Eyemouth.
"Operations Control mobilised three appliances and special resources to the scene, where crews remain in attendance."
