EROSION has forced the closure of a section of a popular coastal route in Dunbar.
East Lothian Council stepped in to close the walkway, known as Doo Rock Coastal Path, following recent heavy rainfall.
A spokesperson for the route confirmed it had been closed for safety reasons.
She said: “Heavy rainfall in recent days is believed to have contributed to erosion of foundations causing cracking and slippage of the path.
“Engineers are carrying out full investigations to assess the extent of the damage.
“Alternative routes to access the beach are signposted.”
