MORE than 45 festive boxes filled with essential items are going to Ukrainians thanks to kind-hearted schoolchildren.
Belhaven Hill School has been involved in a festive fundraising initiative to support the Ukraine Re-Settlement Scottish Welcome Centre in Edinburgh.
The centre continues to welcome more than 130 Ukrainian people daily (almost a third of whom are children) and many arrive with only the clothes that they are wearing.
The pupils have donated nearly 50 festive boxes, filled with essential items including toiletries and warm clothing, as well as festive gifts, such as toys and cosmetics.
Zaini Hats also sponsored the project by donating cosy hats for the boxes.
