AN INITIATIVE encouraging people to reuse school uniforms has teamed up with the Co-op.
Dozens of Dunbar Primary School uniforms can be picked up from the neighbouring supermarket.
Shoes, jumpers and dresses can all be collected from Dunbar Uniform Recycling, which aims to encourage a greater reuse of school uniforms.
Anna Carpico is one of those involved in the scheme and encouraged people to head along.
She said: “Dunbar Primary School has always offered itself as being a green school and an eco-conscious school.
“Really, this is about making that more possible for people.
“It is to make people think about reusing first and not thinking ‘I need to go out and buy something new’, especially when it comes to things like school uniforms where maybe you only need one t-shirt to tide you over for a little while but you would have to buy a pack of three.”
She stressed items at Dunbar Uniform Recycling were available free-of-charge and anyone looking to make a donation could do so to the school’s parent council, with funding going back into the school.
