TWO sea cadets have achieved a prestigious honour after completing their Leading Cadet Board.
Able Cadet Ashley and Able Cadet Riordan became the first sea cadets at Dunbar to achieve the recognition in nearly five years.
The two Dunbar Grammar School pupils recently attended a promotion board run by the Northern Area Sea Cadets Training Team.
The board looks at several skills, including delivering a session on their chosen subject, completing leadership tasks, using their power of command to give drill orders, and an interview with the board president.
Chief Petty Officer (SCC) Martin Galloway, commanding officer of TS VALIANT, Dunbar Sea Cadets, congratulated the duo.
He said: “I am extremely proud of both Ashley and Riordan.
“They have both been in the sea cadets since 2017 and year on year I have seen them develop.
“Being a leading cadet is not an easy promotion to pass but, with pure work and determination, it’s achievable and both have done just that.”
