A Haddington based business will feature in an upcoming US romantic comedy movie with the trailer for the film being released last week.
'Meet me in Scotland' does not have a release date yet but released the trailer for the film on Friday (November 4). The film stars Emma Fischer in the leading role as the assistant to an American writer who, when the writer falls ill, is sent to Scotland in the writer’s place.
She is quickly mistaken for the famous writer by a Scottish poet. Tension mounts when she falls for the poet but knows she can't reveal her true identity for fear of losing the man of her dreams.
The film used a number of East Lothian locations to shoot and Haddington based bridal store, Sophia Grace Couture, was one of them.
Naydene Commins, owner of Sophia Grace Couture, said: “We were approached by the filming company a good few months ago saying they were filming in the area and if we would like to be a part of it.
“We were of course very keen and they came into the shop one day when filming to do a scene.
“They came in the early evening which was good because it didn’t really halt business and they were here for probably about five hours.”
The film’s leading actress Emma Fischer took part in the scene and chose and wore a dress from the store as part of filming.
Naydene said: “The crew helped pick out a dress which she [Fischer] wore when filming which was really great.
“They were all lovely and we got the chance to spend quite a bit of time with them.
“I’m not sure how long the clip in the film will actually be but we’re really looking forward to seeing it when it comes out.”
Sophia Grace Couture is located on Haddington High Street and has been running for over seven years.
A release date for the film has not yet been announced but it will feature other East Lothian locations including Winton Castle and parts of Gifford.
