DAY centre members, staff and volunteers have toasted an important milestone.

Lynton Day Centre celebrated its 20th anniversary with a party in East Linton Community Hall.

The party, which had a colourful Hawaiian theme, was organised by staff for all those associated with the day centre.

A meal was served and musical entertainment was provided by Eddie Raven on organ and vocals, and David Scott on bagpipes.

Doreen Logan, manager of the East Linton facility, welcomed everyone to the party before handing over to James Wyllie.

The chairman of the day centre spoke of the facility’s success due to the welcoming atmosphere created by staff and volunteers, as well as the importance of the day centre to the people of East Linton.

Anne Stewart, a founder and past chairwoman, illustrated the day centre’s 20-year journey and how she now enjoyed being a member.

Members Betty Steel and Jan Menzies cut a specially made anniversary cake.
