MEMBERS of the public have been reminded to report crimes to police and not just post about them on social media.
The issue was highlighted in a police report to Dunbar Community Council, which meets on Monday evening.
The report reads: “A reminder to local community members that posting issues or details of criminality on social media sites is not a crime reporting mechanism.
“If persons in the community wish to report an incident/criminality, normal channels of communication should be adopted either via 101/999.”
