BUSINESSES across East Lothian are being urged to share their experiences in dealing with the cost-of-living crisis.
Rising energy costs have many business owners fearing they could struggle over the winter.
Paul McLennan, MSP for East Lothian, has already contacted 15 of the largest employers in the county, including EDF and Tarmac, about the issue but is also seeking the views of smaller, independent businesses.
A survey has been launched for people to share their experiences, with the findings taken forward in the Scottish Parliament.
Mr McLennan intends to work with East Lothian Council and the UK Government on behalf of the county’s residents.
He said: “As MSP, I want to know about the impact – redundancies, changes in business viability, cancelled training plans – so I can make a clear case to the Scottish Parliament and UK Government on the consequences East Lothian is facing due to the astronomical rise of energy costs. If you want to share your experience with my office to inform this, or if you are seeking help to manage the ongoing situation, please get in touch.”
