KING Charles III was officially proclaimed as the new monarch in East Lothian at a ceremony in Haddington on Sunday.
Dignitaries gathered on Court Street at 12.45pm as John McMillan, Provost of East Lothian, read the proclamation, accompanied by Roderick Urquhart, Lord Lieutenant of East Lothian; Monica Patterson, chief executive of East Lothian Council; and Councillor Norman Hampshire, leader of East Lothian Council.
Similar ceremonies took place across the country as the new King was officially proclaimed.
