BUDDING pipers and drummers are being recruited by a pipe band closing in on its 50th anniversary.
Dunbar RBL Pipe Band is keen to attract new members, including youngsters from primary four upwards.
Classes are on Wednesdays and Sundays in Dunbar Royal British Legion, off High Street.
A spokesperson for the pipe band, which has been in existence for 46 years, said: “All tuition is provided by volunteer members within the band for the good of the band – a big ethos for Dunbar RBL Pipe Band.
“We have five experienced piping instructors and two experienced drumming instructors.
“With this team, we have taken individuals from rank beginners to advanced higher level and also won major championships.
“We also have individuals at college and university who come back to play with the band.
“All children who wish to learn will be well catered for.
“There is no selection process and all learning materials are provided free of charge (practice chanters, folders, music, sticks and pads etc).”
