EAST Lothian Co-operative Bowling Club hosts a dinner celebration on Sunday to mark its 75th anniversary.
More than 60 guests are expected to attend the meal, including Councillor Kenny McLeod, Provost John McMillan and representatives from Tranent, Haddington, Longniddry and Ormiston Bowling Clubs.
The town’s sprint legend George McNeill will also be in attendance, along with former Hibernian and Scotland international footballer Neil Martin.
Lynne Blyth, club secretary, said: “We’re looking forward to the celebration – the support we’ve seen from those invited is great to see.
“We’ve got 946 members now, which is crazy to think we’ve achieved that in the time the club has been open.
“The celebration should be great, we’ve got guest speakers from the club before the dinner, which will be a steak pie, trifle and birthday cake, then a band playing afterwards.”
Lynne, 41, lives in Tranent and has been secretary at the club since January, on top of working full-time in customer service.
She said: “I’m enjoying the job – it’s a lot of work at times given I work full-time too but it’s worth it.
“The members are amazing and I’m glad I took the job.”
The event will be open to the public at 4pm after the dinner, when there will be a live performance from band Lost Angels.
The club will also be open on Saturday evening, when vocal harmony duo Dynamix will be performing from 9pm.
