MORE than £400 has been raised in a contest to guess the amount of money in a bucket at a village pharmacy in aid of an annual gala.

Organisers of Longniddry Gala thanked the staff at the village’s pharmacy for raising money via their big blue bucket, extending an extra special thank you to those who “threw their coins in”.

In total, £448.47 was raised to go towards the celebration and the winner walked away with some cupcakes.

A spokesperson added: “An amazing amount to raise – thanks again Longniddry Pharmacy and their customers for supporting the gala.”
