THE North Berwick harbour area was awash with people and colour yesterday as residents and visitors gathered to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
In the afternoon, a harbour fete and farmers' market attracted plenty of interest before a large crowd gathered in the evening for the main event: the lighting of the Queen's beacon.

Following some fine piping and drumming from North Berwick Pipe Band and a performance from a solo bugler, the impressive beacon was lit at 9.45pm, to huge applause, by Mrs Hilary Cochran, a deputy Lord Lieutenant.
The town's gospel choir then entertained the onlookers with various numbers, including Amazing Grace and Sweet Caroline.
