A variety of film, drama, music and dance which will take audiences from Gotham City to Swan Lake is on offer at The Brunton in Musselburgh over the next fortnight.
The Royal Opera House is set to screen The Royal Ballet performing Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake at 2pm on Sunday, May 22, with a version of the classic love story mixing spectacle, mystery and passion.
The magic of the lakes, forests and palaces is brought to life with glittering designs by John Macfarlane.
The Duke (12A), a British comedy with Jim Broadbent, Helen Mirren and Matthew Goode, can be enjoyed on Wednesday, May 25, at 7.30pm. It tells the story of how in 1961, Kempton Bunton, a 60-year old taxi driver, stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. It was the first (and remains the only) theft in the gallery’s history.
In association with David Ross and Tommie Travers, The Brunton has announce a new amateur production of Sunshine On Leith from Wednesday, May 25, to Saturday, May 28, at 7.30pm, with a performance at 2pm on Friday and Saturday.

National Theatre Live screens Straight Line Crazy (12A), broadcast from the Bridge Theatre in London, on Thursday, May 26, at 7pm. A new play by David Hare, directed by Nicholas Hytner. Ralph Fiennes (Antony & Cleopatra) leads the cast in David Hare's (Skylight) blazing account of the most powerful man in New York, a master manipulator whose legacy changed the city forever.
Two of Scotland’s most acclaimed traditional musicians Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, who turned 60 this year, bring their 2022 show to The Brunton on Friday, May 27,at 7.30pm. The duo form a national institution, with their mastery of fiddle and accordion, bringing excellence in traditional music to venues across the country.
American superhero movie The Batman (15), produced by Warner Bros Pictures and starring Robert Pattinson in the title role, is on offer on Wednesday, June 1, at 7.30pm.
Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) amongst the city's corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.
