PARENTS and carers are being urged to ensure children keep appointments to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
Children aged between five and 11 are being invited for the childhood vaccine to help protect them against coronavirus.
Already, NHS Lothian has sent thousands of appointment letters to children across the area, with pre-arranged appointment slots at dedicated clinics.
Paediatric vaccinators will be available at the clinics to answer any questions parents or carers might have about the Covid-19 childhood vaccine.
Paul McLennan, East Lothian MSP, encouraged people to make sure they got the vaccine.
He said: “Parents and carers don’t have to do anything other than bringing their child to the appointment that has been reserved for them, as outlined within the appointment letter they will receive in the coming days and weeks.
“The number of people testing positive for infection in East Lothian has increased rapidly.
“Vaccination is still one of the best ways to protect ourselves and our children against the virus.”
