EXTRA bins could be placed on a popular walking route near Haddington Retail Park.
Concerns about litter generated from the businesses on the edge of the town have been highlighted by residents and Haddington and District Community Council.
Jim Graham, from the community council, told members that he had been approached by a resident of nearby Arthurs Way recently.
He said: “He was asking me to bring up the subject of litter going through the gardens.
"Also, with the new [Starbucks] coffee shop, he is really concerned it is going to get worse and worse.”
Ward councillor Craig Hoy confirmed that he had already met with the operators of the retail park.
It was agreed that a bin would be put in place there, as well as others on the nearby Longniddry Railway Walk.
He said: “I went up with a resident and he was collecting eight bags of rubbish a week. I will draw it to their attention again.”
