A VENUE which is used by dozens of different groups has received a cash boost.

The Bridge Centre in Haddington was given just under £1,500 by kind-hearted staff at Viridor’s Energy Recovery Facility (ERF), near Dunbar.

Donations are directly linked to site safety, with staff invited to nominate and vote for a charity of their choice.

Iain Chisholm, member of the Dunbar site operational team, lives near the Poldrate Bridge Centre and was keen to show his appreciation of the facility, where his own family, as well as the many foster children he has cared for, have enjoyed the various clubs, classes and activities delivered at the centre.

The donation “is a much-needed resource that will be put to good use, allowing children and young people to participate and engage in activities at the centre”, according to Justine Bradd, community development officer, who was “absolutely delighted” to receive the funding for the youth clubs.
