NEARLY 1,500 cases of Covid-19 have been recorded over a seven day period in East Lothian, according to the latest data from Public Health Scotland – a significant decrease from the previous week.
Between March 21 and 27, 1,456 cases were recorded in the county, producing a seven-day positive rate per 100,000 people of 1,349.4.
The previous week (March 14 to 20), 1,908 cases were recorded for a seven-day positive rate per 100,000 people of 1,768.3.
Na h-Eileanan Siar has the highest rate of the virus among Scottish authorities.
In the county, Dunbar East recorded the most cases in the last seven days (88), giving it a seven-day rate of 1,923.9, with no district in the county recording fewer than 46 cases.
Vaccinations
The vast majority of East Lothian residents have now received three doses of a coronavirus vaccine.
A total of 82,695 people over the age of 18 have received their first dose – this equals 96.2 per cent of the population.
A total of 80,558 people have received their second dose, or 93.7 per cent of the population.
And 72,402 residents, or 84.2 per cent, have received a third dose or booster coronavirus vaccine.
