LETTERS have been delivered to homes in a new housing estate ahead of potential changes to the development.
Planning permission is already in place for more than 800 homes at Letham Mains, on Haddington’s western edge.
Construction work is already well under way on the site but developer Mactaggart and Mickel has submitted a planning application to East Lothian Council looking for changes to the approved permission.
Councillor Craig Hoy, who represents the town on the local authority, has delivered letters to homes in the area.
The letter reads: “Mactaggart and Mickel propose some changes to the design and positioning of the homes and seek to change the road layout, with an access directly opposite the end of Kerr Loan, rather than having two entrances to the new development.
“The repositioning of the road to being opposite Kerr Loan could make it more likely that traffic from the new homes would use Kerr Loan rather than Davids Way, which could be an issue of concern for residents.”
