East Lothian Council has released details on Christmas tree collections as well as how to recycle your tree this year.
There are various options, including using your brown bin or taking your tree to a local recycling centre.

Where can I recycle my Christmas tree in East Lothian this year?
For households with a brown bin, real Christmas trees can be put by your bin for kerbside collection.
The council advises presenting your tree beside your brown bin on garden waste collection dates in January.
There will be no garden waste collections between December 22 and January 6 inclusive.
Alternatively, you can take your tree to a local recycling centre.
Throughout winter, East Lothian recycling centres are open between 8:30am and 4:15pm, however will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and January 1 and 2.
They will also close at the earlier time of 2pm on Christmas eve and Hogmanay.
When should you take your Christmas tree down?
It is up to you when you take your Christmas tree down, however according to tradition, decorations should come down on the 12th day of Christmas which is January 6 2022.
