A 2022 calendar will raise funds for playground improvements at Musselburgh Burgh Primary School.
The calendar, with winning photos from a school photography competition, is now on sale, priced £5.
Pupils from 13 classes took part in the competition on the theme ‘Something That Makes You Smile’.
The overall winner was ‘Sunset In The Harbour’, by Romilly Upcraft, P4, which appears on the front page of the Burgh Primary 2022 calendar.
The other winners were: ‘Barbies and My Friend Jack’ by Clara Bose, nursery; ‘There Are Eggs Under There!’ by Anna Thomson, P1; ‘Daffodil Picture’ by Vinnie Dunn, P1; ‘Etta In The Park’ by Lily Doherty, P2; ‘I Love Ice Cream’ by Caroline McDonough, P2/3; ‘Peek A Baa’ by Ava Virlogeux, P3; ‘Bassie The Guillemot’ by Ophelia Carter, P3/4; ‘Heidi’ by Lily Fisher, P5; ‘Spring Bunnies’ by Erica Olds, P5/6; ‘Books Hearts and Flowers’ by Anya Peet, P6; ‘Winter Wonderland’ by Angus Ross, P7; and ‘The Bridges 3’ by Lauren Hollingsworth, P7.
The children have been asked what they would like to see in the playground and new play equipment is being costed.
Family and friends of the Burgh will be able to purchase the calendar via SchoolPay; at the Love Musselburgh Christmas shopping and crafts day at St Michael’s Church Hall, Dalrymple Loan, on Saturday, from 11am; and via the parent council Facebook page ‘Musselburgh Burgh Parent Council’.
The parent council will launch a Christmas raffle shortly and it is hoped that local businesses will give support as part of their community funding schemes.
