PUPILS at Dunbar Grammar School have been urged to bring reusable face coverings to school after it was revealed that thousands of masks were being issued every week.
Youngsters returned to the secondary school following the summer holidays last month.
A spokesperson for the school said they had been “really impressed” with how students were coping with wearing face coverings in the school.
They added: “We have always encouraged students to bring their own face covering but will supply one if they have forgotten.
“We are currently issuing around 3,000 disposable face coverings each week. The environmental impact of this is significant.
“We would like to appeal to all students and their families to use a reusable face covering if possible.”
