A DONATION of more than £100 has been handed over to Dunbar Royal British Legion.
The group, based off the town’s High Street, held a well-attended breakfast for armed and auxiliary forces veterans on August 14.
This was the fifth of their ‘NAAFI Club’ gatherings to enable veterans to enjoy a cooked breakfast, inter-services banter and a good blether.
At the end of the event, Sarah Purvis, manager of Dunbar’s Co-op store on Countess Crescent, presented a donation of £130 to Iain Maddox, Dunbar branch secretary.
He said: “We are very grateful for the kind support we receive from our foodstuff supplier, Dunbar Co-op.
“This donation demonstrates the Co-op’s mission to use their profits to support the local communities and the money will be put to good use.”
