A BOAT almost made an unexpected journey ashore after it broke free from its mooring.
It was an early call on Monday morning for crew at North Berwick RNLI, with pagers going off at about 4.30am.
A 38-foot motor cruiser with two people on board broke free and nearly ended up on the beach.
The town’s lifeboat crew launched and helped position the cruiser safely back on a mooring just after sunrise, with help from North Berwick Coastguard.
