WINDOW cleaners are being reminded that they need an appropriate licence by East Lothian Police, following reports of some carrying out work without one.
Officers said they had “become aware” of a number of people operating in the county as window cleaners but not holding the correct licence. Those with their own business or employed as a window cleaner need appropriate documentation to ensure they are “fit and proper persons”.
Police have urged people to ask any unknown person offering window cleaning work to produce their licence before accepting.
The licence can be applied for through the East Lothian Council website.
