A MACMERRY resident who was caught with a quantity of cannabis has appeared in court.
Ben Ramsay, of Station Court, was found to have the Class B drug on his person by police officers at Fort Kinnaird shopping centre in Edinburgh. Ramsay was arrested and charged with intent to supply the drug but the charge was reduced to one of possession when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday.
Sheriff Adrian Fraser issued the offender with a fine of £810, along with a victim surcharge fee of £40, resulting in him having to pay a total of £850.
The 27-year-old also had a not guilty plea accepted to possessing a lock knife during the same incident on February 2 last year.
