HARD-WORKING staff at a care home have been praised for their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.
Feedback from residents at Lammermuir House Care Home and their loved ones has resulted in impressive findings in a nationwide survey.
An overall score of 88.6 per cent – nearly 12 per cent higher than the latest national figure for UK satisfaction – has been recorded.
The survey focused on the service provided during the pandemic, including communication about the situation and provision of a friendly environment.
Lammermuir House Care Home, on the town’s East Links Road, was particularly recognised for the care and support provided to relatives. It also spanned key elements of care home life, including the food and dining experience, activities programme, home cleanliness and atmosphere.
Gladys Somanje, manager of the home, was pleased with the findings.
She said: “I am so proud of the dedication of our team during this difficult time and very grateful to our wonderful residents and their families for their support.
“We all love what we do and getting this great feedback shows us that we’re doing it well, which is always what we aim for.”
The survey included feedback from more than 3,500 people across 180 Four Seasons Health Care and Brighterkind care homes in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The highest overall scores were recorded in categories relating to the care and support provided and the personal relationships between team members, the resident and their relative, which included demonstrating respect, friendliness and approachability.
