EAST Lothian Police are advising quad bike owners to lock and secure their quads this summer.
With better weather and increased opportunities to get out and about in the county, East Lothian Police have reminded quad bike owners to secure their vehicles when they are not in use.
A spokesperson said: “This is particularly relevant to farms around the county in more rural areas such as Dunbar.
“Please think about how and where you store them, and the keys, and consider looking at tracker systems which are available from a number of retailers.
“If you notice anything suspicious or are looking for more detailed security advice, please contact 101 or speak to your local community police officer.”
Police are also advising owners to take photographs of their quad bikes and write down the serial number to make it harder for thieves to sell the vehicles on.
