A FISHING boat had a trip to forget after a burst pipe on board at the crack of dawn meant a call to the RNLI.
North Berwick’s lifeboat crew were called at about 3.45am today (Thursday) to the 12-metre-long vessel, called Jeannie Stella, that was taking on water from the burst pipe.
The boat was in the Firth of Forth about three and a half miles west of Gullane with three people on board at the time.
RNLI volunteers from Kinghorn and members of North Berwick Coastguard were also called.
Once on scene it was then established that the boat had the situation under control with the burst pipe located, fixed and the water already pumped out. The boat then made its way back to Port Seton for repairs.
Both lifeboats were stood down and the crew returned to their respective stations after a brief meet up.
