MICHELIN Star chef Tom Kitchin is backing a charity’s nationwide campaign for tartan tea parties.
Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) is encouraging people to celebrate Thank You Day on July 4 by joining neighbours, friends and family to say ‘thank you’ to those who helped local communities get through the coronavirus pandemic.
To mark Thank You Day, CHSS is urging residents to host their own tartan tea parties by signing up and receiving exclusive recipes from Mr Kitchin, who operates The Bonnie Badger in Gullane and a number of restaurants in Edinburgh, as well as other materials to make their celebrations extra special.
The chef – who joins a host of well-known faces in backing Thank You Day, including Lorraine Kelly, Dame Katherine Grainger, Michael Sheen and organisations such as the Together Coalition – said: “I’m so thankful for all our amazing customers and guests for sticking with hospitality through what has been such a difficult year.
"It’s been great to welcome you back – thank you for supporting us as we reopen.
“Thank You Day is a great idea and gives us all a chance to say thank you to everyone who helped us through.”
To help people get in the party mood, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland has created an essential pack to help people throw a tartan tea party.
