ALCOHOL has been seized from youngsters at known drinking hotspots in Dunbar.
Reports of underage drinking at Lochend Woods and John Muir Country Park have been passed to police.
Constable Chris Hutchison, from the Dunbar Community Policing Team, updated members of the town’s community council in a written report.
He said: “These areas continued to be patrolled on foot, bike and vehicle by local officers, which has led to seizures of alcohol from youths. Officers are grateful to those contacting police at the time of incidents regarding the presence of large groups.”
Previously, a Problem Solving Partnership (PSP) was set up in a bid to tackle the issue of underage drinking and youth-related anti-social behaviour in the area.
The group involves different organisations, including various departments of East Lothian Council, Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
