HADDINGTON has been added to the list of locations in East Lothian which will be visited by coronavirus mobile testing units over the next week.
The units offer Covid-19 tests to those who have no symptoms of the virus.
As nearly one in three people who have Covid-19 don’t show any of the usual symptoms, it’s possible for people to be passing the virus on to loved ones and people in the community.
By getting tested – even if someone feels fine and has received vaccination – they can find out if they are positive and take immediate action to stop the spread of the virus to others by self-isolating.
A fixed testing centre, located at the former Stoneyhill Community Centre in Musselburgh, continues to operate from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11am to 6pm. The facility is open to everyone from East Lothian as long as they don’t have symptoms.
No appointment is required to use the testing facilities.
Anyone with symptoms – most commonly a continuous cough, fever/high temperature, loss of or change in sense of smell/taste – is required to book a test. They will then be advised where to attend for their appointment.
The schedule for mobile test units (generally open 10am-6pm unless stated otherwise) which can be visited by people with no symptoms is as follows:
- Saturday, May 29, and Sunday, May 30: Loch Centre, Tranent (10am-5pm); Dunbar Leisure Pool
- Monday, May 31: Prestonpans Community Centre; Longniddry Community Centre (10am-3pm); North Berwick Community Centre; John Muir House, Haddington

It’s also possible for people to order delivery of home test kits at gov.scot
