BOXING superstar Josh Taylor’s fiancée is excited to start wedding planning following his win against Jose Ramirez at the weekend.
Danielle Murphy watched the fight from home in Haddington after Covid-19 restrictions prevented her from flying to Las Vegas.
Josh, from Prestonpans, beat his American rival with a unanimous points victory to become the undisputed super lightweight world champion.

Danielle told the Courier: “I am absolutely ecstatic about his win, he has made history.
"All the hard work, dedication and years that he has put into his craft have paid off.
“I was gutted not to fly over, there have been other times when he has gone away and we haven’t been able to be there but with the magnitude of this fight, everyone wanted to be there to support him, but we were all cheering him on and screaming for him at the television.”
Danielle said the Taylor family are excited to celebrate when the world champion touches down in Scotland today (Tuesday), but Covid-19 restrictions are making it difficult.
She said: “We are having to play it by ear because it is hard to book anything.
"Normally we would go into a hall or celebrate in a pub but there are only so many people you can have in a function and there is no way you could only pick 50 people to celebrate, so we aren’t doing that.
“We are hoping to be able to get an open-top bus for him, but we need to see if the council will allow that.”
Danielle was disappointed by the lack of national televised coverage of the fight.
She said: “It is absolutely shocking that the fight wasn’t broadcast on a bigger platform for others to be able to watch.
“The older generation do not have smartphones, so they were struggling to watch it when it was on because it was streamed through an app."
Danielle said Josh was flying home on Tuesday for some well-deserved time off.
The couple got engaged in Dubai last December.
Danielle said: "Hopefully he can take some time off so we can get our wedding planned and chill for a while."
