REPRESENTATIVES from two of Scotland’s largest planned offshore windfarms will discuss the proposals at a community meeting.
SSE Renewables wants to build the Berwick Bank and Marr Bank windfarms off the East Lothian coast.
The proposed installed capacity of Berwick Bank, which has secured a grid connection at Branxton, near Torness, east of Dunbar, is up to 2,300MW (megawatts), while Marr Bank is up to 1,850MW.
Pippa Swan, chairwoman of Dunbar Community Council, confirmed that Gary Donlin and Elouise Smith, of SSE Renewables, would give a presentation at the community council’s virtual meeting on April 19.
Berwick Bank Windfarm would be 49 kilometres off the East Lothian coast at its nearest point, with Marr Bank Windfarm at 43 kilometres.
Mrs Swan said that it was worth hearing from the developers, with the possibility of benefits for the local community.
