FOUR candidates will battle it out next month to become the next MSP for Midlothian North and Musselburgh.
Colin Beattie (SNP), Stevie Curran (Labour), Charles Dundas (Liberal Democrat) and Iain Whyte (Conservative) were confirmed as the four candidates for the seat at the Holyrood election when nominations closed yesterday afternoon.
Mr Beattie has represented the area in Holyrood since 2011. Mr Curran is a councillor in Midlothian, while Mr Whyte is the Conservative group leader on City of Edinburgh Council. Mr Dundas is a former City of Edinburgh councillor.
The Scottish Parliament Election takes place on May 6.
