This summer's Musselburgh Festival has been cancelled due to Covid-19, it has been announced.
The election of the 2021 Honest Lad and Honest Lass, which usually takes place at the end of April, has also been shelved.
Last year's festival, which traditionally take place in July, did not go ahead but an online celebration, including sharing photographs of past festivals, was enjoyed by many.
Alison Elgin, president of the Honest Toun's Association, which organises the annual event, said it was "with regret" that the decision had been made to cancel again this year but it was in the best interests of everyone's safety.
She explained that it was hoped to mark the festival - which dates back to 1936 - in a similar way to last year, saying: "As last year, we will strive to do all we can to celebrate Musselburgh’s heritage and the traditions of our festival, and we thank everyone for their continued support and friendship."
