A COUNTY band has joined forces with a village choir to create a charity cover version of All You Need Is Love.

Aberlady Moonshine Orchestra collaborated with Pencaitland Community Choir to record a version of The Beatles track.

The idea was to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The project was the brainchild of Alan McLay, the band leader, who, together with the choir leader and fellow band member Charlotte McMillan, co-opted the support of other musicians to arrange, record and produce the track.

John Donoghue, who plays drums and percussion with the four-member band, said: “The project was technically challenging because each person had to be recorded separately and in accordance with current rules and restrictions.

“Each track then had to be mixed and mastered into the final take.”
