VANDALS have allegedly been targeting the old Edenhall Hospital in Musselburgh over the last few weeks.
A 15-year-old boy was charged with vandalism on September 14 after numerous glass panes were allegedly smashed and a newly installed door lock broken.
Enquiries are ongoing to trace two other youths in respect of the same incident at the Edenhall Road site.
PC Heather Anderson, from Musselburgh Police Station, said: “We have received a high number of reports of youths entering into the various buildings in the old Edenhall Hospital and causing damage.
“Most of the buildings are in a declining state of repair and some are particularly dangerous to be going into, and we are asking people to refrain from entering them.
“The site has a number of CCTV cameras and police will take action against anyone identified causing damage to the property.”
