More than 100 parking fines were issued across East Lothian over the weekend as people continued to flout the rules.
East Lothian Council said the number of penalty notices was less than half of the 211 fines issued on the previous weekend when people flocked to the county’s beaches despite the council-run coastal car parks remaining closed.
However, it said its parking attendants still issued 103 tickets between Friday and Sunday.
The local authority closed its coastal and rural car parks during lockdown and has so far resisted calls for them to reopen as some lockdown restrictions have been eased.
A spokesperson said: “It was a quieter weekend across East Lothian’s coast and beaches, with no major issues being reported on local roads; between Friday and Sunday, 103 penalty charge notices were issued.”
