A ‘SOUP(ER) Hero’ campaign has been launched by a Whitecraig restaurateur.
Graham Blaikie, who owns The Mercat Grill, is taking action to get home-made soup and sandwiches to anyone in urgent need in the community during the Covid-19 crisis.
He said: “We want to play our role in doing whatever we can to help those that are really struggling because of financial hardship, to feed themselves or their family at this immensely difficult time. If you or someone you know is in this position, please get in touch.
“Likewise, if you’re an organisation that can collect from us and deliver to your network of people in need – please get in touch. Every day we will make available fresh, homemade soup and sandwiches, which can be collected from us for you to take to whoever is in real need. We will try our utmost to feed as many people as we can.”
