ESKMILLS Venue in Musselburgh is offering NHS Scotland frontline clinical workers the chance to win a dream wedding worth around £12,000.

The prize draw for the all-inclusive marriage celebration, which will take place on Friday, February 12, 2021, has been set up as a way of giving something back to the nurses, care assistants, doctors and other health practitioners who are helping and treating Covid-19 patients.

The competition has been launched by award-winning caterers Hickory, the company that manages Eskmills Venue and a portfolio of other venues.

The prize offers the winning couple exclusive use of Eskmills Venue, a converted riverside mill building, for 80 day guests and an additional 40 evening guests. The prize includes drinks, canapes, a three course wedding meal, a live band and a photographer.

Also included is piper from GD Bagpiping, kilt hire from 8 Yards, stationery from 2Flux Stationery Studio, flowers from Liberty Blooms and a 3-tier wedding cake from Truly Scrumptious

Any NHS Scotland hospital-based health practitioners planning to get married are invited to enter the prize draw at https://eskmillsvenue.com/nhs-win-a-wedding. It’s an easy online form and entrants just need to provide contact details and a photo of their NHS staff ID.

The winner will be announced on May 14.

Stephanie Stubbs, Deputy Managing Director of Hickory, said: "We want to honour the amazing NHS frontline teams who are so committed all year round and particularly at the moment.

"We think they deserve something to look forward to, and so we came up with the idea of offering a free wedding at one of our flagship venues complete with all the trimmings.

"We approached our brilliant suppliers and together we have organised everything from flowers and a band, to kilts and stationery to give one NHS Scotland health worker their dream wedding day without them having to lift a finger – it’s the least we can do to say thank you."

Hickory specialises in corporate events and weddings and, in addition to the Eskmills Venue, exclusively manges Cairns Farm Estate and Oxenfoord Castle. The company often works with the Assembly Rooms and Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, Broomhall House and Mount Stuart on the Isle of Bute. They also cater for large scale events such as the Scottish Open, Royal Highland Show and the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
